There's something remarkable about a room full of adult musicians choosing to set aside their everyday lives for a few days for the love of making music together. That's exactly what happened at the Community Music School of the Piedmont's Adult Chamber Music Workshop, held June 19–21 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Upperville, VA.
Coming Together Through Chamber Music
Over three days, participants gathered each morning ready to dig into the rewarding challenge of chamber music. Coached by CMSP strings faculty Alán and Cynthia Saucedo, ensembles worked through repertoire, refined their listening skills, and discovered what becomes possible when musicians truly play as one.
A Note of Gratitude
A heartfelt thank you to Alán and Cynthia Saucedo, whose expertise, warmth, and passion for chamber music set the tone for the entire workshop. Their dedication made this experience as meaningful as it was musical.
More Than a Workshop
What makes the Adult Chamber Music Workshop special is the community. Adult musicians don't always have easy opportunities to play chamber music at this level, with this kind of dedicated support. CMSP is proud to offer that space, and to see participants leave not only with stronger musicianship but with new friendships and a renewed sense of joy in playing. The workshop wrapped up with an informal performance that gave every ensemble a chance to share the progress made and the music created throughout the week.
