Nurturing with Music

Developed by Miho Sato, MMT, MT-BC

A Partnership Between the Community Music School of the Piedmont and the Piedmont Child Care Center

Nurturing with Music provides a musical and nurturing environment where children are encouraged to explore sound, rhythm, and movement. Through playful, creative, and interactive experiences, children discover the joy of making music while developing essential cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and sensory skills.

About the Program

The Community Music School of the Piedmont partners with the Piedmont Child Care Center to offer joyful, developmentally focused music classes where children explore sound, rhythm, and movement through singing and play.

Since 2005, this beloved program has grown to serve all PCCC classrooms. In 2023, it expanded into Nurtured by Music, providing two weekly classes—one supported by families and one funded by CMSP scholarships—so every child can experience the benefits of early music education.

Lasting Impact

Through this long-standing collaboration, PCCC and CMSP continue to nurture children’s creativity, confidence, and curiosity through the power of music. We are deeply grateful for CMSP’s partnership and their commitment to supporting our diverse community of young learners.
