New Scholarship Opportunity: Svea Elizabeth Larsson for Instrumental and Voice Students
CMSP is delighted to announce a new scholarship opportunity. The Svea Elizabeth Larsson Music Scholarship will provide a 50% scholarship to two students for a year of music lessons (January through December) at the Community Music School of the Piedmont.
Students with a dedicated interest in music lessons are invited to apply for the 2027 Svea Elizabeth Larsson Music Scholarship. This scholarship is open to voice and all instruments except piano.
This scholarship was established to honor the late Svea Elizabeth Larsson, a soprano and the mother of our board member Lena Scott Lundh.
Students between the ages of 10 and 18 who have demonstrated a passion and ability for music are eligible to apply, regardless of prior instruction.
To apply, students are required to submit a letter of recommendation from someone outside their family (ideally a music instructor) familiar with their musical interests and write a 500-word essay on the role that music plays in their life and why they consider musical study to be an important and valuable undertaking. A successful essay will also demonstrate the student’s interest in studying music.
The Scholarship Committee will accept applications until December 4, 2026 and will announce the winner in December.
