CMSP announces winner of 2024 Katherine Jameson Scholarship

Annabel Abernathy & Szymon - Katherine Jameson 2023.heic

CMSP is pleased to announce that Anabel Abernathy is the winner of our 2024 Katherine Jameson Piano scholarship, named for CMSP’s first piano teacher, who taught at the Community Music School of the Piedmont for nearly 20 years.

Anabel is an 8th grade student and an accomplished young musician, who studies violin and cello, as well as piano. In the two years she has studied piano with Mr. Szymon Czerniak, she has improved her technique and developed a stronger love of piano. Anabel wrote in her essay that she has learned how to listen for voices within a piece of music, in order to bring out the articulation, dynamics, and phrasing.

Anabel looks forward to continuing to share her musical talents in church, while making music with her family, and in future recitals and performances!

Congratulations Anabel!
