The British came…to Middleburg for a delightful concert of eighteenth and nineteenth-century string music. On February 8 the New Orchestra of Washington (NOW) under the direction of Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez presented the stunning centerpiece to an elegant evening, enjoyed by close to 150 people. The ensemble consisted of a double string quartet with contrabass, which sounded stunningly full in the intimate setting of the ballroom at Barton Oaks.

CMSP’s annual Candlelight Concert raises money to enable us to provide scholarships to deserving students who might not otherwise be able to study music.
