1st Annual Candlelight Concert

Sparks Glowing Reviews

“Better than the Kennedy Center.”

I overheard people remarking “I can’t believe we didn’t have to go to D.C.” to hear a performance of this caliber.

The concert featured brilliant performances by pianist and Shenandoah University Professor Elizabeth Temple, cellist Cruz Taylor Almao, violinist Flor Maryory Serrano, and pianist Gerardo Fernandez. Concertgoers were treated to the intimate atmosphere of a candlelit Buchanan Hall, complimented by champagne, hors d’oeuvres, and a rare proximity to the musicians.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit The Community Music School of the Piedmont’s student scholarships, faculty development and community outreach programs in the 2008-2009 school year, ensuring that, though the performance may be over for now, the music will still be there in the future
