CMSP GOES GLOBAL!

Thanks to a grant from an anonymous donor, CMSP donated several violins for former CMSP violin student Maire Egger to use
to teach children at the mission of St. Francis of Assisi, Banica, Dominican Republic.
CMSP'S INSTRUMENT PETTING ZOO

Fun and surprises are in store when CMSP's Instrument Petting Zoo comes to town, but you won't find goats, llamas, or other
standard petting zoo fare in this musical menagerie.

CMSP's Instrument Petting Zoo gives children a unique, hands-on experience with authentic musical instruments. As honorary
zookeepers, each child has a chance to explore the variety of sounds these creatures can make. Students also have the rare
opportunity to handle some of the zoo's "baby" instruments; child-size violins and guitars.

There's a surprise ending too, but we can't say anything more about that.

The Instrument Petting Zoo is making stops at area preschools, elementary schools, and early childhood programs as well as
community events. To bring the Instrument Petting Zoo to your school or event, please contact the CMSP office.

center. Children explore sounds, rhythms, and music patterns through songs, movement and instrumental play. This program of ten

CONCERTS & COMMUNITY EVENTS

We host several concerts and community events as part of our commitment to making high-quality performances available to
all members of the Piedmont region. With the exception of our annual Candlelight Concert fundraiser, all concerts and special
events are free and open to all.

Past events have included Virginia's 400th Birthday, which featured music performed by string quartet, harpsichord and fiddle,
and a special guest appearance by one of Virginia's most famous and musical sons - Thomas Jefferson!

Concert performances range from our own student recitals to hosting graduate performance recitals and regional chamber
musicians.

For upcoming events, be sure to check our
Calendar and Special Events pages.

CMSP is dedicated to making high-quality music education available to all members of our Piedmont community. Various
scholarship and financial aid opportunities exist to help make this possible, thanks to the generosity of our
donors and
sponsors.

Scholarships may be based on need or merit. Tuition assistance is available to students who qualify.

Application forms are available from the CMSP office. All application information is kept strictly confidential.
